So often we are seduced by the thought that the world applauds quick wit and fast replies. There are two verses in the Bible that speak to the contrary. James 1:19 states, “My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.” Ephesians 4:29 reads, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
This is what is foremost in my thought today and I will diligently work about doing just this!
