Quiet Time

Recently I read where fear often manifests itself in excessive-planning.  That is true for me so I usually begin my day with Psalm 46:10 which reads “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”  Before I still my thoughts, it feels almost like a popcorn popper!  For me, it is important to get my thoughts calm before I start my day.

As I pray to see only what God sees, I have more dominion and can be aware if my thoughts try to darken, I can refute them and replace them with the Truth of God’s omnipotence, omnipresence and omniscience.  The choice is always mine.

Time With God

While at my desk this morning, I ponder my time alone with God and am so grateful!  There has been times in my life that I neither took this time nor thought I needed it.  How very arrogant and unseeing was that!  As I give gratitude for everything and quietly listen for His guidance, I am reminded of Psalm 119:104 which states, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”  God’s patience and mercy are forever.

Perfect Peace

The following is from an article I read some time ago and can’t remember the author but thought I would share it.

“At the center of the most turbulent heart there is a place of peace, a place beyond time that cannot be touched by change or loss.  Here in the stillness is rest and healing.  Nothing we suffer, nothing we fear, can damage its perfection.  Enter this place of peace and learn the purpose of your life–not wealth or fame, but the recognition of your unity with all things.  Everything you have loved is here.  All joy.  All good.  No living thing has ever been lost to you.  No evil can survive in this clear shining.”

Imagine beginning each and every day at that place.  Psalm 112:4,7 states, “Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man…He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.”  We can fulfill this Truth by beginning each day peacefully.

Necessity, not Luxury

Often, one may think spending alone time with God is a luxury he cannot afford, when actually, it is a necessity.  We become more centered , joyful and ready for life when God is at the helm.  John 15:5 reads, “I am the vine; you are the branches.  If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

My day goes smoother when I begin with alone time with Him.

Heart

At the center of the most turbulent heart, there is a place of peace, a place beyond time that cannot be touched by change or loss. No evil can survive in this clear shining.

It is always thought to be corrected!  We have never, ever been out of God’s care.  God is always working His purpose out and only Good is going on.

Genesis 28:15  “I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land.  I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”
