So often, we hear phrases like “He will come again” and “some day we will be with Him” and immediately, I refute the “some day” or “here after” and later! The Christ is available to us every second! Romans 12:2 reads, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Today, I will be conscious of these subtle suggestions that our joy will be later, not now and will not “sleepwalk” through today, but will see God’s glory everywhere!
While sitting at my desk and studying my Bible Lesson for the day, small negative tempting thoughts seem to creep in. Now, the choice is mine on whether or not to entertain and feed them. Remembering reading about Jesus’s temptations while on the mountain after fasting, he just told error, or satan, to “Get thee behind me.” That is exactly what I will do while a scripture from Romans 8:38-39 comes to mind.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
