Future Problems???

This morning while preparing for a week trip to another state for our granddaughter’s wedding, my husband just brought in a piece of paper with the weather forecast for the next week.  Much rain is predicted and this wedding is outside and also we will be driving a distance.  My first thought was “Oh, no!”  Immediately, I thought of John 10:10 which states “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”  The thief can easily be regret of the past and fear of the future which steals your joy.  Then, as I was reciting the Lord’s prayer,  and when I repeated “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil;”  I recognized this as error.  God is in charge here so I need not fret nor worry.  Yes, we need to use wisdom but our every need is met by God!

Thou Shalt Not Steal

This morning as I was thinking about the above commandment, another way of looking at it came to thought.  Man’s true identity can never be stolen from him as God’s precious child, whether it comes in the guise of illness, unflattering label or gossip.  Man was/is made in the image and likeness of God and that fact never changes.  Psalms 86:8 reads “The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy O Lord, endureth for me.”

Man shall never experience loss of Good when his mind is on God!
