Below is a favorite poem of mine written by Gilbert Carpenter, Jr.
I see myself as God’s own child, as perfect in His sight.
I see my brother-man as well, a perfect child of light.
Then to complete my prayer, I see him seeing me aright..
I see him seeing me seeing him as perfect in Love’s sight.
Thought this was needed now, as always.
Today, I will accept God’s Love totally. I will be careful to avoid living as the Pharisees, who got so wrapped up in rules on how to live Christian lives, they lost sight of God. Man-made rules lead to bondage and enslave many. Today, I will “Cease striving and know that I am God.” Psalms 46:10
Ephesians 5:8-10 states, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord.”
As I was thinking this morning, I began to ponder “complaining”. That is actually telling God I have a better way of doing things. How arrogant is that? 2 Corinthians 5:7 is a gentle reminder, “We live by faith, not by sight.”. God is always working his purpose out and it is always perfect! I will trust Him today and everyday.
