Naturally, we should be grateful to all of those who have fought so we can have freedom in this great country of ours. Shouldn’t we also want freedom from hatred, envy, criticism, judgment, revenge, bitterness and all other negative feelings? That is true freedom and that comes with refuting those and replacing them with Love, kindness, compassion, gratitude and humility. Today, my prayer is that all men, women and children can taste of freedom within. That can be done with focusing on God, Love!
Titus 3:5 states “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.”
So many times, as we go through the day, we may come upon an obstacle and keep our focus there. Maybe, we will spend time on getting through or around the blocked area. By doing this, we may get off course. As I was thinking about the hurricane and storms today, I remembered God, not Harvey, is omnipotent. Isaiah 26:7 states, “The path of the righteous is level; O upright One, you make the way of the righteous smooth.”
Checking my thoughts regularly, I will know God is still in charge!
As I think of a person who may appear my enemy, how can that be if I am learning compassion, patience and humility during this trial? I will read and re-read Matthew 5:43-48, which reads, “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy’. But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?”
Today, I will practice that Love!
