All my life, I had heard it said, “The devil is in the details”. It has taken spiritual growth for me to question and refute these old sayings but as I have turned more and more to God and releasing old belief, understanding has taken place. Psalm 73: 23-26 reads, “Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
This verse says the complete opposite! God is in the details and when we put Him first in our life, there is peace, harmony and dominion.
Today, I release my loved ones to God’s care and relax in knowing they are safe and loved. It is important that a loved one does not become an idol; therefore, retarding their spiritual development. Jacob loved Joseph more than all of the brothers, causing hatred among them. Even though, God was there for all, they had to endure years of separation and suffering.
Genesis 37:3-4 reads, “Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made an ornate robe for him. When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him.”
Even parental love can come in the form of idolatry. Today, I give all to God!
