Many years ago I sold gold jewelry and my first purchase found gold at $100 an ounce. During the years gold went up to almost $2,000 an ounce. It was sold through home parties, fund raisers and gifts through Board Rooms at large corporations and was often very profitable. Trying to keep pricing competitive but also making a profit was quite tricky and at times, impossible. There were times I would almost sell out of my inventory which was good, but more expensive to replace certain items. Then, I would have to think about pricing increases. At that time, it would have never occurred to me to pray about this, but still God looked after me.
It took years before realizing my Good comes from God and I certainly could not outline humanly my profit margins. Gratitude is expressed daily and is foremost in my thoughts as I glance back and see my every human need has been met by God and I know it will continue to be. Thank you, Father.
Psalm 105:4 states “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek His face always.”
While studying and praying this morning and feeling gratitude and love, had a brief conversation with someone and it didn’t fit my picture. Irritation came sneaking in when I was reminded of my recent prayer to see God in everything! Remembering that the carnal mind as mentioned in the Bible is very subtle and always out to steal our joy, I immediately smiled to myself and said “gotcha” knowing that was what it was. Vanity or emptiness certainly doesn’t come from God.
Psalm 105:4 states ” Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always.” So thrilled that I caught it so soon thinking back over times when it may have taken me days to be that aware. Once again, I will practice seeing God in everything!
Recently, I paid a visit to my first art teacher and had him critique some of my work. While he was complementary with some, he pointed out that I had failed to execute some things on other pieces where I had known what to do! A light came on for me and since then, I had recognized places where I had not executed what I know to be true.
First and foremost, I know God to be the omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient Good and the only power there is! During this election, I had experienced some hand-wringing when in my soul, I know better.
“Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.” Psalm 105:4
There are times when the path ahead seems easy and I may be tempted to go it alone. That is exactly the time I need to pray with Psalm 105:4, where it states, ” Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always.” Today, I will remember this verse and pray with it.
