Fake news has become a common phrase that we hear daily. People are discussing whether or not to believe what they are hearing or reading. There is more and more frustration being exhibited because of this, when actually, this could be a good thing. ICorinthians 2:5 states “Your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” Doesn’t that tell us to not be dismayed but keep our focus on what God knows. God remains in control. This is His universe, not some man in office here or there. Of course, praying for that office is important but we need not get wrapped up in personalities. God is in control and this is apparent when our thoughts begin with God/Love. God is Love. Today I will help my fellowman by staying alert and listening for inward guidance.
There is such negative news today but we needn’t be pulled down by it. Matthew 1:21,24,25 gives a different type of news! “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: and knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son; and he called his name Jesus.”
Just as Joseph was awakened, so should we be. We are free to believe whichever news we choose. The Christ continues to live in our hearts and in humility and gratitude we shall know that Christ!
Recently, a friend of mine had once again bid on a job at Church. Once again, the bid had gone to someone else. This time, I felt some irritation and was postponing calling him with this negative news that he had not received the job.
After a couple of hours of “stewing”, I bit the bullet and called to tell him the news. When he heard, he thanked me profusely and told me another job had fallen in his lap but he would have to refuse it had he gotten the job for our Church. My heart was filled with humility as I saw that I should let go of “human will” and “Let God be God” ! I remain so humble as I see His wisdom everywhere.
Psalms 62:5 reads, “Find rest, O my soul, in God alone: my hope comes from Him.” This is true when I “Let go and let God”.
