Kingdom of Heaven

This morning I have been reading the 20th chapter of Matthew which compares a landowner with the Kingdom of Heaven who goes out to hire laborers  and paid each a denarius a day.  He continued to hire more throughout the day and paid them each the same amount.  The llth and 12th verse reads “When they received it, they grumbled at the landowner.  Saying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the scorching heat of the day.'”

This tells me that it is not what we do humanly, but our expectancy and receptivity of the Good God gives us!  Today, I will practice accepting and expecting Good!

Kingdom of God

While reading this morning about the “Kingdom of God” and the “Kingdom of Heaven”, it was brought to my attention many Bible scholars believe these to be the same.    The Bible also states that God is Love, Spirit and Life and when we substitute those synonyms as in the Kingdom of Love or the Kingdom of Spirit, we can certainly realize that is talking about now.  Matthew 10:7 states “The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”  That, to me, means we do not have to wait until here after or here later but is available to us right now where we are!

Kingdom of God

In Luke 17:21, we read “Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”  To me, this says it is always our choice as to where our focus is.  To experience the kingdom, we need not wait until this happens or that happens but can find peace and harmony right where we are!  We can never be separated from God for an instant.  Love is always where we are.

Kingdom of Heaven

As I ponder the Kingdom of Heaven, what comes to mind is peace and harmony.  It is my understanding that it does not have to be “hereafter” or “here later” but can be experienced right here, right now.  First, human will and human outlining have to be rejected and yielding to God and His direction have to be obeyed.  That is not as difficult as it sounds because there have been times in my life when I have literally worn myself out by outlining and planning.  Today I will let go and let God be God!

Matthew 11:28-29 reads, ” Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will  find rest for your souls.”

The Kingdom of Heaven

To me, the kingdom of heaven means peace, harmony and well-being and is here and now and we don’t have to wait until here-after or here later to experience it.  Luke 12:32 reads, “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”  As we live life to the fullest with Love for all of God’s creation, we can experience that joy!  Replace all bitterness, envy and revenge with Love which dispels all negativity.
