Burdened Down

As I mentally made my list of all that needed to be done, I became overwhelmed.  The next step for me always is to check my motives and ask myself “Is this for the glory of God?” or “Am I glorifying me?”  The answer always comes speedily when I realize that there is nothing for me to fix!  Humbly turning to God and accepting His guidance, the load quickly lightens, freeing me up to do anything that needs to be done.  Isaiah 41:13 states “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”  Today, I will listen for direction and remove my ego and human will.  “Speak Lord, for thy daughter listens.”

How are we Looking at Events?

Recently I heard a testimony given by a friend about protection for her on a busy thoroughfare.  As she was driving in heavy traffic, a piece of plastic flew off the truck ahead of her and landed on her windshield blocking her vision.  As she prayed, she was able to pull off and remove the piece and there was a break in the traffic so she was able to return on the highway and continue on.  There was such humility in her voice as she spoke about this with no trace of anger, only gratitude for the protection given her.    The question I asked myself was “Would I have handled the experience that way?”

Isaiah 41:13 came to thought which states “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”  She had to be praying along those lines as she traveled.  We hear so much about “road rage” these days so I found this so very inspiring.

The Place Within

There is a place deep inside each of us that can either be filled with problems and challenges or God, Love.  It is always our choice.  Self-absorption, which includes, self-pity, self-condemnation, self-righteousness comes up when we turn our back on God, Good.  Isaiah 41:13 reads, “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”  This is not only for difficult times but  for all time!

Thessalonians 5:17 states, “Pray continually.”  This does not mean long, lengthy prayers but praise and expressing gratitude for everything.  Today I choose Joy!

Summer Camp

Once I heard someone say we should live like we were at summer camp.  Remember, how each day was filled with joy and adventure because we were alive!  Do we now live like we are at camp or fill each day with planning what we will be doing later when we get there?  Life is going on Now!  Isaiah 41:13 states, “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.'”  Those robbers of abundant living, which are fear and worry are never present when we live in the Now!  Live today to the fullest.

Reaching up to Humility

Recently, I heard it said that we need to reach up to humility, not down.  So often, that seems to be a trait that man avoids and that is a totally different word from humiliation!  Actually, when I am humble, that is exactly the time I am more receptive to hearing what God is telling me.  Pride and fear need to be avoided at all cost.

Isaiah 41:13 reads, “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”
