While working at my desk this morning, the thought of depression came into my thinking. It seems to be widespread throughout with different types of medication and therapy thrown at you. If someone believes in this human world and are waiting for things to run smoothly in our government and world affairs, they are going to be sorely disappointed. John 14:27 reads, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” We need to look through God’s (Love’s) eyes and see what He sees. There seem to be more people praying about our world than ever before. This is a good thing.
As the election draws closer, we should recognize God as the true government and work more on governing both our thoughts and actions. Prayer is imperative for the office of the President, rather than the person. God is the highest power there is!
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7 That means to me all anxiety, including the thoughts about the up-coming election.
It was difficult to watch last night’s presidential debate with an open mind and not feeling disgusted. The appearance was small spoiled children threatening one another. However, prayers are so needed for our Government, without personalizing and also, knowing there is a higher government and that is God!
