Experiencing God’s Protection

Driving home from Church yesterday, there is a 7 or 8 mile  narrow two-lane road with a speed limit of 45 miles per hour.  No passing the entire way is permitted.  There was a car ahead of me and a small truck pulling a small trailer ahead of it going anywhere from thirty to forty miles an hour.  All at once, behind me came a very large truck speeding and had to slow to follow this procession.  While watching him, I could almost feel his frustration and thought I needed to pray.  Often, I will find myself irritated at impatience like that but I knew I needed to see the driver as a child of God and know that God never made an aggressive bully!

The truck behind me sped out to pass all three of us and at the same time, the car ahead of me put on his blinker to turn and pulled out.  As he saw this large truck coming at him, he quickly returned to his lane and the truck just sped past.  There was such protection for us all and I knew it was God.  Had I been angry and bitter about this vehicle behind me, there could have easily been a crash and maybe even a fatal one from all of our positions.

Then the three Hebrew boys being thrown into the fire came to my thought.  Had Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had fear, anger, or vengeance in their heart, possibly they would have perished.  Daniel 3:27 reads “And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them. ”  I feel sure that it was the gratitude and humility in their hearts that saved them.

Good-Bye to 2016

As I look back over this past year, my heart fills with gratitude for the proof of God’s Love in sparing my husband among other challenges.  The spiritual growth I have experienced due to the challenges has been vast and I am reminded of Isaiah 43:2 which states, “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”  Psalms 66:12 reads, “We went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.”

This has been so true for me in this past year and I feel very blessed.  I wish each and everyone a blessed Happy New Year!

Everything Belongs to God

Everything we have belongs to God, so I am not so sure, He could or would have a bad relationship, a disease of any kind or a lack of supply.  Accept this as Truth and it will set you free.  God’s world is our classroom and His word is a lamp to our feet and a light for our path.

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ‘God is  a consuming fire.'”
