Expand the Box

Recently, our grandson, who is graduating from college with honors, was awarded a scholarship for his masters degree in another state.  There is a fellowship given of $10,000 to several and our grandson was the first alternate.  Last week we drove over to take pictures of him in his cap and gown.  While there, we were talking about how we could help with expenses while he finds a part time job when he moves.  As I told him I was praying he responded he didn’t want to get the money if someone else had to turn it down due to illness or anything like that.

We talked and knew God didn’t work like that because what blesses one blesses all.  1 Thessalonians 5:18 states “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”  I prayed with that verse.

Yesterday, he called so thrilled.  He had been awarded $10,000 for expenses.  The young man that had turned it down had been granted another one from another school which had been his first choice.  God is the only power there is  and I will claim that today.

Too Good to Be True?

Recently, I read an article with that title stating that if we believe that, we must expand our concept of God.  Most of us grew up hearing that said and we accepted that as truth.  How freeing to know that is not true because God is Good and if we are made in His image and likeness, we are worthy of all the Good He imparts!

Today, I will graciously accept nothing but Good!

Below is my first acrylic painting from last year.
