While praying for the world today, I think of how easy it is to criticize and condemn others if I am not careful. When I cease entertaining those negative thoughts about others, I know I am progressing spiritually. World peace actually begins with each individual.
1 Timothy 2:8 states, “I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.” When I first thought of this title today, I opened my Bible to this verse. God is always revealing precious angel messages to us which we can hear as soon as we kick ungodlike thoughts out!
Today, I will be aware of how I treat everyone.
It is often easy to fall into the dangerous habit of judging and comparing ourself to others, but that only leads to feelings of pride or inferiority and sometimes both. We don’t even know the real picture when we entertain comparisons. As I cease to judge, condemn and compare, I begin to make progress. Luke 6:37 states, “Judge not, and ye shall not be judged, condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven.” That leads to real freedom!
John 8:7 states, “So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, ‘He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.'” This was not only meant for that occasion with the woman caught in adultery, but for any time we think it necessary to see “ungodlike” qualities in someone. Once I read a sentence from an article that is so true to me. ” When I cease to judge, criticize or condemn, I begin to make progress.” This also can mean toward ourselves as well!
Today I will neither judge nor evaluate myself. By comparing myself to others only leads to either pride or inferiority! When I cease judging, I begin to make progress. Luke 6:37 reads, “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” Today is the Lord’s day and I will rejoice.
