Yield

Many years ago when moving to another city, we found  our dream home and bought it before we had sold the previous one because we did not want to lose it to another buyer.  My husband moved and I stayed behind since I owned a jewelry store at the time and would go back on the week-ends.  After a few weeks, I began to become very fearful since my son was taking over the jewelry store and we actually needed the money from our home.

Praying about it constantly became a ritual as I outlined how it should happen and how much we would receive.  During this time, the worry became so obsessive it would be the last thing I thought about at night and would awake to the same worry.  While telling my son that I had been praying about it and asking for signs, he laughed and said that he doubted God would answer me with a billboard or other signs like that.

When driving from the store one afternoon and praying, I came upon the exit to go to my previous home where I was staying and I noticed a “yield” sign.  I drove about a block and there was construction and another “yield” sign and yes, there was a third sign a block away.  A light came on in my consciousness and I knew it was from God since He comes to us where we are!  Immediately, I thanked Him for the sign and knew all was well and complete.  That next week-end at an open house, we received a contract and the house sold.  I just needed to open my eyes to the perfection all around and release the fear that can seem crippling and keep us from seeing that God is always working His purpose out and it blessing all.  Psalm 25:14-15 reads “The Lord confides in those who fear Him; He makes His covenant known to them.  My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only He will release my feet from the snare.”

Love One Another

The Bible tells us that when we love someone who returns our love, that is certainly not difficult to do.  When we love our enemy, how can that person stay our enemy?   As we learn to love when it is not returned, aren’t we forced to grow spiritually?  1 John 4:12 reads, “No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.”  No exception is mentioned in that verse, but we are told to love one another.  That is my goal for today.  Love reflects Love.
