Complaint or Gratitude

As I pray about the condition of the Universe and think about the trips we had to cancel or the things we are having to do differently, I think about the many privileges we may have taken for granted before.  John 4:35 states “Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest?  behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.”  Often, it appears we are always waiting for things to get better or something to happen “out there” when this scripture reminds me that Jesus expressed gratitude before the raising of Lazarus!

Today, I will spend more time expressing gratitude; therefore, being able to see more of God’s universe, not the chaotic man-made one.  Expecting harmony and peace, I pray to recognize it right in the middle of what seems to be appearing.  God is right here, right now.  When God wants us to grow, He will first make us uncomfortable.
