Daily Manna

This morning I was pondering about the daily manna that fell to feed the Israelites and was reminded they had no refrigeration nor storage so it needed to be eaten that day.  It occurred to me that I need to turn to God daily for spiritual food because when I don’t, it is easy to become complacent and think I can do it on my own.  Exodus 16:16 reads “This is what the Lord has commanded, ‘Gather of it every man as much as he should eat; you shall take an omer apiece according to the number of persons each of you has in his  tent.'”  Looking up in the dictionary the definition of “omer”, I discovered it was the Hebrew word meaning over five pints which I consider quite a bit.

Not only were they fed, but with plenty.  There is never a lack of Good when we are depending upon God for our supply.
