The Practicality of Prayer

Recently my husband and I were sitting down with our calendar and schedules.  There seemed to be overlapping of dates.  There would be meetings and obligations I would need to cancel or reschedule and I began to feel stressed.  After deciding to pray about the situation for some directions and clarity, almost immediately, the story of Mary and Martha came to thought.

Luke 10: 40-42 reads “But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said ‘Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.’  But the Lord answered and said to her, ‘Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things: but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.'”

This was my answer!  I needed to quieten my thought and listen.  Also, so many things I had planned were not even that important.  I love when God answers my prayer like that.
