The Carnal Mind

Each of us in entertaining either thoughts from God, Love or thoughts from the carnal mind, which is world thought; fearful, anxious, bitter, vengeful, envious, etc. thoughts.  By recognizing and paying attention to these thoughts one can know if a thought is kind, loving, intelligent, etc., God is governing them.  On the other hand, when one worries and is angry he is buying into world thought and this is the God he is serving.

Our free will is choosing who we are serving.  Error or sin is never in the present but either in the past or the future.  No need to go to either of those places because our every human need is provided by Divine Love every minute.

Exodus 16:15-16,19 states “Moses said to them, ‘It is the bread the Lord has given you to eat.  This is what the Lord has commanded: Each one is to gather as much as he needs….No one is to keep any of it until morning.'”

Today I will watch my thoughts and if it is not loving, I will refute it and reject it and replace it by knowing  God is the only power there is.

Two years ago, I wrote and read this at my niece’s wedding.

Love is from God and Love exists forever, for everyone.  It knows nothing of  the mortal separation.  There are no walls of material beliefs that Love does not dissolve; no obstructions Love cannot remove.

We do not own Love.  We share it and we live it, but it is not a possession.  We learn to Love without limits and as we learn to Love without limits, we learn to accept Love.

From 1st Corinthians, Chapter 13, we read, “Love suffers long.  Love does not envy, Love does not parade itself, is not puffed up, does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil.

And now abide faith, hope, Love, these three; but the greatest of these is Love.”

Real Man

While watching a program last night on television, a man played such a despicable part and a woman played such a fearful role that they both were believable.  After a while, I couldn’t separate them from the role they were playing.  Then I began thinking of someone I know who has an undesirable trait that appears real!  My thought shifted as I prayed to see him as the child of God he really is.  He is succeeding in this part without even knowing his true identity.  Today I will focus on his real identity, whether or not he is aware of it.

Luke 6:37 reads “Do not judge, and you will not be judged.  Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned.  Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”

God is Love.  If everyone, everywhere would faithfully realize that the Omnipresence of Love fills the whole universe, the saving power of that Love will reach and bless all who reach out to God in their extremity.  Those who are lonely will become aware of His infinite presence and those afraid will feel the touch of this Love and be comforted.

This light of the Christ will dispel the darkness of pain and fear, and His voice will be heard, “Lo, I am with you always, you are never alone.”   Isaiah 12:2 states, “Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid.  The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation.”

Today, I will be cognizant of that Love everywhere!

Weary Ones

This morning my prayer include all the people who have been working tirelessly throughout this disaster as they may experience “burnout”.  By turning to God and letting His Love envelop their outreach to others, their energy will be renewed.  Matthew 11:28-29 states “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will  find rest for your souls.”  Exodus 33:14 reads “The Lord replied, ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.  I will remember  these verses as I pray today.

Be Gentle with Yourself

This morning I noticed I was a little irritated about something.  Then it went full force into guilt since there are so many going through so much right now.  I immediately went to Psalm 68:19 that reads “Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.”  Nowhere in that verse says I need to punish my self for an error in my thinking, only correct it!

Today, I will practice being gentle with myself because that is the only way I can be worth anything to anyone else!
