The entire Beatitude reads, “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.” Read an inspiring paragraph from an article on this beatitude that says, “May I remind you that we have to be merciful with ourselves, too. Don’t think you are a victim of time or a disease or any false belief. Be merciful in forgiving yourself for past mistakes. Rise above the material picture to the one innocent man of God’s creating—that’s you.”
The greatest mercy is the fact that God is “of purer eyes than to behold evil”. Habakkuk 1:13.
