Son of Hagar

One of my favorite stories in Genesis is about Hagar and her son being forced out in the wilderness with only some water.  She was Egyptian and had a son by Abraham and Sarah had cast her out.  After drinking all the water, she was sure she and her son would perish, but Genesis 21:17 reads, “And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, ‘What aileth thee, Hagar?  fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.'”

That verse is not talking about a locality, but where we are mentally.  God always hears our prayer and I find that so comforting.  We needn’t worry about what words we are saying because He knows our heart.  We can never be separated from God.

  1. Yes, that comfort that God is ALWAYS with us is peace within. I do love that story too. Thanks for pointing out the spiritual importance of our “presence” and not to concentrate on our material whereabouts. Have a lovely day, Becky!! Tell Larry, great photo! 🙂
