Often, we look at the new day as a blank page and immediately go to filling it! Wouldn’t it be great to live it receptively and responsively? Just to be led by the little voice within expectant of Good would be different and a new approach. Psalm 37:23-24 states, “If the Lord delights in a man’s way, He makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.” Today, I will be looking for new ways to express God and see Him expressed everywhere.
The Bible tells us that when we love someone who returns our love, that is certainly not difficult to do. When we love our enemy, how can that person stay our enemy? As we learn to love when it is not returned, aren’t we forced to grow spiritually? 1 John 4:12 reads, “No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.” No exception is mentioned in that verse, but we are told to love one another. That is my goal for today. Love reflects Love.
Yesterday, my husband and I went to see the above movie. He found it very depressing and I found the message about forgiveness overwhelming. Undoubtedly, one needs to have plenty of tissues with them when seeing it. Immediately, I was reminded of Job 11:16 where it states, “Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away.”
Recently there was a sign out in front of a Church that read, “Don’t make me come down there and it was signed God!” People were amused about it and shared it with each other. It didn’t amuse me at all because I know God to be present here and now. Isaiah 41:10 reads, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous hand.”
Man is never, ever separated from his creator. This is a Truth that is very comforting to me.
A priceless pearl begins as being an irritant within the oyster. I love to think on this as I pray about something that can seem frustrating to me. As I release the burden and give it to God and have patience and faith that He is working it out, I relax in gratitude and humility. It never fails that the same irritant becomes a blessing within my life when I repent (change the way I was looking at it). If man gets involved in the formation of a pearl, it becomes cultured and not nearly so valuable as a natural pearl. Same with a challenge! When man outlines the outcome, it often can become chaotic and messy. Today I will give everything to God! Belief becomes understanding.
Luke 1:37 reads, “For nothing is impossible with God.” There is no exception.
II Kings 4:6 states, “And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.” This was pointed out by Elisha, a man of God to show the woman that if her thought stayed on Good, God her supply would never dry up. This is true today just as much as in Biblical times. What our focus is on, multiplies!
Recently, I spent several days and multiple hours preparing for an annual report and audit for an organization where I am Treasurer. In so doing, there was a small error that was keeping me from balancing and the report goes to State. During this ordeal, many prayers were prayed humbly asking for help. I prayed with “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” from Isaiah 40:31.
After much frustration, the error was found and the report submitted yesterday. It was such a great relief! This morning while at my desk and praying and giving thanks, I nearly forgot how very grateful I was to get that job completed! How quickly I forget when only yesterday I was crying out for help and it was given to me.
