Releasing Loved ones to God

Today, I release my loved ones to God’s care and relax in knowing they are safe and loved.  It is important that a loved one does not become an idol; therefore, retarding their spiritual development.  Jacob loved Joseph more than all of the brothers, causing hatred among them.  Even though, God was there for all, they had to endure years of separation and suffering.

Genesis 37:3-4 reads, “Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made an ornate robe for him.  When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him.”

Even parental love can come in the form of idolatry.  Today, I give all to God!

  1. I love your first sentence! We are all in God’s care but making that conscious decision to release “them” is very comforting. Sometimes we need to be more AWARE of this fact in our thinking.

    I appreciate this inspiration this a.m. 💖
